The Story Behind Doing It Again (Total Recipe Time: 35 Minutes)
The first time I made my Marry Me Shrimp & Noodles, I had come home late, starving and unwilling to wait an hour for food. What started as a quick cook-speriment somehow turned into one of those meals that made me stop halfway through eating and think, yeah… I’m definitely making this again.
So I did.
This time, there was no emergency hunger situation and no throwing things together just to see what happened. I already knew the combination worked: saucy noodles, seasoned shrimp, peppers, onions, tomatoes and boiled eggs all getting very comfortable together in one pan. The first time was hunger. The second time was premeditated.
And somehow, seeing the whole thing bubbling away again made it even harder to pretend this was just a random dinner.

Recipe: Ingredients (Prep Time: 10 minutes)
- Vegetables: Onion, tomato and pepper, finely diced to really maximize the flavour.
- Seasoning: 1 sachet (10 g) MAGGI Fish Seasoning, or seafood seasoning of choice, to taste.
- Shrimp: 1 container Jamaican pepper shrimp (ready-to-heat) or SeaPak Shrimp Scampi (U.S.).
- Rice: ¼ cup (about 45–50 g) uncooked long-grain white rice.
- Noodles: 1 pack Buldak Original Hot Chicken Flavor Ramen.
- Eggs: 2 eggs.
- Oil: 2 tsp cooking oil.
Nothing fancy here. Most of the work is really just getting everything ready before the pan starts demanding your attention. Once the vegetables are chopped and the eggs and rice are going, things move very quickly.
Recipe: Finally! Let’s Cook (Cook Time: 25 Minutes)
- Rice: Simmer rice in ½ cup water with ⅛ tsp salt for 20 minutes.
- Eggs: Cover 2 eggs with water and boil for 12 minutes. Peel when cool enough to handle.
- Noodles: Boil Buldak ramen for 3 minutes; drain and save sachets for later.
- Vegetables: Heat 2 tsp oil in pan for 2 minutes; add vegetables and cook for 1 minute. Add ¼ cup water and simmer for 1 minute.
- Shrimp & seasoning: Add to pan – shrimp, fish seasoning (I used MAGGI), ramen and seasoning sachets (use sparingly to reduce intense spiciness – to taste). Stir thoroughly and cook until heated through.
- Eggs: Add the peeled eggs as you prefer them—whole, halved or sliced.
- Finale: Serve your shrimp, noodles and eggs with fluffy rice!
The finished noodles should be glossy, savoury and properly coated rather than swimming in sauce. You get sweetness and freshness from the vegetables, plenty of flavour from the shrimp, heat from the Buldak and those boiled eggs soaking up just enough of everything around them.
Basically, it looked good the first time.
The second time, it looked like I had every reason to make it again.

Would You Make It Twice Too?
Some recipes get made once and quietly disappear into the kitchen archives; this wasn’t one of them. If a meal makes me voluntarily recreate the whole thing, it has officially earned its place in rotation. Would you try my Shrimp & Noodles—or are the Buldak noodles already making you nervous?
